At locations around the globe, ABB partners with local educational institutions to not only recruit but to form alliances to teach about career opportunities in advanced manufacturing.
At ABB in Ozark, Arkansas, the leadership has developed a relationship with both OHS and the Arkansas Tech University - Ozark Campus. In late April, OHS students were honored at OHS Signing Day 2025 for their enrollment to a higher education, the military or a commitment to a career.
Out of the many students honored at Signing Day, 12 of those have a future at ABB. "Six are working part-time in the manufacturing facility and six others are joining the manufacturing pre-training classes at Arkansas Tech University, a program that places eligible participants into ABB positions at the completion of the program.”
Ms. Dean, OHS career coach, working closely with students on their goals and training them on how to build excellent resumes, interview for jobs and communicate competencies.
"This job is very humbling to me, and I tell my students all the time, if you change your job, you can change your life," said Ms. Dean. In Ozark, ABB is a preferred place to refer students. Melanie says not all students are cut out for graduating high school and beginning college the semester after graduation. She encourages students to seek out ABB because the pay is higher than the median annual wage in the area and because of ABB's education assistance program.
After working at ABB, employees can get financial support to earn a degree. "You're never too old to try college, don't be afraid," said Ms. Dean while sharing the encouraging words she conveys to students.

Due to unplayable field conditions, the 4A-4 Conference Softball & Baseball Tournaments hosted by Ozark High School will resume on Saturday, May 3rd. Brackets are attached - Go Hillbillies! #HPRD
