The regular registration deadline for the December ACT is Friday, November 7. Students must register at https://www.act.org/
👇 See below for frequently asked questions about ACT.
❓What is the ACT?
The ACT is a college entrance exam used by most colleges and universities that measures high school students’ readiness for college-level classes. ACT is about what CONTENT students understand.
❓How much does it cost to take the ACT?
It costs $68 to take the ACT without science or writing. The science add-on fee is $4, and the writing add-on fee is $25. Few students — usually those who are excellent writers — take the writing portion of the test.
❓Can I take the ACT for FREE???
Yes, juniors and seniors participating in the school lunch program are also eligible for up to two lifetime ACT fee waivers. These waivers will cover the registration cost for the ACT (including science and writing) and an ACT test prep course. Email Ms. Dean at melanie.dean@ozarkhillbillies.org to check students' eligibility for waivers.
❓How do I register?
Registration can be completed at act.org.
❓How can I prepare for the ACT?
We offer FREE online ACT test prep for all students through Methodize in Xello. We also offer free in-person ACT practice. See link below for details. 👇

❓When should I take the ACT?
We require 10th graders who want to take Academic Concurrent Credit classes to have a qualifying ACT score to take those classes. Students must take the ACT in 9th grade to qualify for those courses with an ACT score.

Last week, students in Mrs. Dalling's science classes attended Science Day, generously hosted by University of the Ozarks. Students completed hands-on experiments, ate lunch on campus, and learned about what makes University of the Ozarks' degree programs unique. Some students participated in a campus tour led by OHS's own, Daxton Shaffer, OHS Class of 2024.

Tucker Shaw, Ozark High School FCCLA PRESIDENT and Region II Vice-President along with Debby Estep, advisor attended FCCLA COLA at ATU in Russellville, AR.
FCCLA COLA - “Chapter Officer Leadership Academy" describes the overall leadership development opportunities provided by the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA)organization for its student officers. These opportunities include participating in officer roles, attending conferences, competing in events, and receiving training that helps them develop essential skills like public speaking, goal setting, and time management.
Key leadership components for FCCLA chapter officers
Officer roles: Serving as an officer is a primary way for members to develop leadership skills and gain experience.
Conferences and events: Students can attend both state and national conferences, such as the National Leadership Conference and the National Fall Conference, which offer workshops, speakers, and competitive events designed to build leadership skills.
Competitive events (STAR Events): Through participation in STAR Events, officers can apply and showcase their leadership abilities in various capacities, including online competitions.
Skill development: The experience helps officers develop a wide range of life skills, including public speaking, working in teams, goal setting, time management, and decision-making.
Career and personal growth: The academy, or rather, the leadership experience, is designed to prepare students for future roles in their careers and communities.
