September 21st is the International Day of Peace, and in honor of this day Mr. AC Moncrief spoke to Ozark High School concurrent college credit history students. Pictured are some of the students who took part in this event, along with Mr. AC Moncrief. Mr. Moncrief spoke about his time in the US Peace Corps and the importance of peace-building.

Yesterday, our senior class warmed up for the upcoming American College Application Campaign (ACAC) by attending the University of the Ozarks College Fair.
Students connected directly with colleges and learn more about programs, financial aid, and application processes.

Community partnerships + student success
Today, our Career Coach, Mrs. Dean, had the opportunity to visit with a community partner, Arkansas Tech University - Ozark Campus (ATUOC). She had the opportunity to visit the newly renovated Industrial Control Systems Building and meet Stacey McCollough, program chair, and Cody Harkness, instructor.
Automation technology leads to in-demand careers as controls, electronics, instrumentation, and maintenance technicians. The field is so in demand that tuition and fees for associate degrees in automation at ATUOC are FREE for qualifying students through the Arkansas Future Grant.

OHS students will be receiving specific login information this week for student access and parent access. Please ask your child for the handouts they received in their English classes.
On August 23, concurrent college history classes heard from archaeologist Dr. Tim Mulvihill about the detailed history of Arkansas and the Americas. Dr. Mulvihill brought many archaeologist artifacts for students to see, and students were able to hold items that were incredibly old. Pictured is Dr. Mulvihill with some of the students who participated in this presentation.
