The Ozark School District is proud to welcome their new Superintendent, Mr. Zane Vanderpool. Mr. Vanderpool was hired on March 30, 2023 and will begin in this new role on July 1, 2023. Some Biographical information and a statement from Mr. Vanderpool is below. Go Hillbillies!!
Zane Vanderpool will be the superintendent of schools as the new year begins at Ozark School District. He served for three years as superintendent of schools in Horatio, Arkansas from 2020-2023. Prior, he served as principal for thirteen years at Glenn Duffy Elementary School in Gravette, AR. He was an elementary classroom teacher and assistant principal in Huntsville, AR prior to his work in Gravette. Vanderpool has been an educator in public schools for twenty-six years. He and his bride of nearly twenty-eight years have two adult sons, Landon and Dalton.
“Mr. Ford is a local legend, and I am proud to follow him. I am also looking forward to working with him in his new role as co-op director next year.” Mr. Vanderpool is truly excited to be able to serve in Ozark and help promote positive learning experiences for students. He states, “Teresa and I look forward to getting to meet the staff and students and join forces with the Hillbilly Nation. We love to support the schools and enjoy attending student activities.” Vanderpool led Horatio Schools as a beginning superintendent during the pandemic. “I learned a lot in a short time. I value the experiences and the opportunities the Horatio School Board and the great folks in Horatio gave me. Now, it will be my pleasure to help the Ozark School Board implement its vision and work with the staff to build upon Ozark’s commitment to being a progressive district with valued traditions and high expectations for students.”
In 1996, Vanderpool earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, Arkansas. In 2001, he completed a Master of Education degree in Educational Administration at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Mr. Vanderpool completed a program of study at Harding University in Rogers, AR in 2019 to gain central office credentials. His licensure areas include district level administration, PK-4, K-6, middle school social studies, principal K-9, and English speakers of other languages K-12.
