District Dyslexia Coordinator

 

*This position will be added duties to an existing contract.  It is not a full time position.

Reports To: Superintendent

 

Job Duties

  • Coordinate and facilitate the dyslexia screening and referral process.

  • Lead district dyslexia team in analyzing student data and identifying students who meet the characteristics of dyslexia.

  • Maintain communication with principals, parents, and teachers. 

  • Collaborate with the SPED and 504 coordinators. 

  • Maintain dyslexia and intervention records in a confidential and organized manner.

  • Supervise dyslexia interventionists.

  • Provide training and support for interventionists.

  • Administer dyslexia entrance and exit assessments.

  • Organize end of year records and facilitate planning for the upcoming year.

  • Serve as a literacy resource for the School Improvement Leadership Teams.

  • Attend professional development to stay up to date on dyslexia law and testing.

  • Assist in the recruitment and retention of qualified interventionists.

  • Report district data annually on the school website. Keep eSchool and cycle reporting data up to date.

  • Collaborate with district administration.

 

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Current and valid Arkansas teaching license
