Perform duties that are instructional in nature or deliver direct services to identified students. Serve in a position for which a teacher has ultimate responsibility for the design and implementation of educational programs and services.
Discuss assigned duties with classroom teachers in order to coordinate instructional efforts.
Reports to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis.
Present subject matter to students under the direction and guidance of teachers.
Tutor and assist children individually or in small groups in order to help those master assignments and to reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers.
Observe students' performance, and record relevant data to assess progress.
Supervise and assist students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, schoolyard, and gymnasiums/safe rooms, or on field trips.
Enforce administration policies and rules governing students.
Assist with student transportation (bus loading and unloading, car loading and unloading), and walkers.
Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: High School Graduate; Required
Associate's Degree (two year college or technical school): Preferred
A passing score on the Paraprofessional Proficiency Assessment will substitute for the Associate Degree
