Language Arts & Social Studies Teacher
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned.
Teaches district approved curriculum based on state frameworks and standards.
Develops lesson plans and instructional materials providing for individualized and small group instruction while providing differentiated learning to the needs of each student.
Evaluates student progress through teacher-made tests, standardized tests, diagnostics, rubrics, common formative assessments, and observations while keeping and maintaining appropriate records.
Creates a safe and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning while developing student skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing that are fundamental to good communication.
Foster motivation among students to read for information and recreation.
Makes modifications to enrich and remediate individual students.
Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student conduct, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
Collaborates and cooperates with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
Communicates with parents and community members to maintain and nourish a positive school/community relationship.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Valid Arkansas teaching license with Middle Childhood Language Arts/Social Studies Endorsement
