Paraprofessional 

Ozark School District

Position:    Paraprofessional for the Special Education Classroom  Grades 5-7

 

Qualifications: High School Diploma

Requires one of the following as a minimum requirement: 

  • An Associate of Arts Degree

  • Two-years (60 hours) of college credit

  • Pass Paraprofessional  Examination 

Enjoys working with young people 

Organized

 

Reports To:    Building Principal

 

Supervises:  Students assigned to them under the direction of the certified

classroom  teacher. 

 

Performance Responsibilities:  

 

  1. Work with students in small groups, or individually under the supervision of a certified faculty member.

  2. Assist in providing enrichment and supplemental support to children who would benefit from additional instructional assistance.

  3. Assist in supervising students as scheduled by the building principal.

  4. Attend in-service training activities as provided by the district. 

  5. Provide classroom management support

  6. Provide students with personal care, physical support, and transitioning within the school settings.

  7. Perform physical assistance including toileting and other adaptive physical activities. 

  8. Maintain confidentiality to protect the rights of students.  

  9. Perform other duties as assigned. 

 

 

Terms of Employment:   Contract 180 days
